Plumbers & Pipefitters & HVAC Techs, Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. Part of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters, HVAC Techs and Sprinklefitter (UA).
Around 1600 members. Around 250 apprentices (give or take) We have about 40 signatory contractors.
What we currently do for veterans at our company
We have a veterans committee in the union. There is a brotherhood in the union trades that helps fill that void that a lot of vets have in their life after transitioning out of the military....The current Training Coordinator (Chuck McKnight) is a Marine Vet. I make it a point to take care of our vets who are apprentices. They still have to perform --- same as every other apprentice --- but we make sure they get any VA benefits they have coming, etc....
