The Ithaca Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (IEJATC) is a non-profit organization providing training for workers in the electrical industry. The IEJATC is jointly sponsored by the Southern Tier Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #241. It is the responsibility of the IEJATC to provide training for electrical workers in the organized electrical industry and willing and able to work within the IBEW Local #241’s geographical jurisdiction.
An apprenticeship combines on-the-job training and classroom training allowing you to earn while you learn.
As an apprentice, you will work for electrical contractors and attend classroom sessions during the academic year. As you learn on-the-job, you are paid as an employee directly by the contractor . While progressing through the training, you receive promotions and pay raises.
